As many of you know, Thursday was my birthday. The big 3-5. WHOA. To celebrate this momentous day, I crammed in a whole bunch of my favorite things – Caribou mocha-drinking, garage-saling, movie-watching – in addition to one new adventure, a trip to Fawn-Doe-Rosa Animal Park.
Fawn-Doe-Rosa is located on Hwy 8 in St. Croix Falls, WI, just across the MN border from Taylor’s Falls. We’ve passed it dozens of times on the way to our cabin and decided today would be the day we stopped.
They had lots of the expected usuals – pony rides, a petting zoo, animal feed, etc. They also had some of the cuddliest goats I’ve ever met. I definitely got my fill of baby goat snuggles.
What was unexpected though were the large number of free-roaming deer that had no fear of people (since they’d been domesticated in the park since birth).
Nia made herself right at home amongst the deer. It was like something out of a Disney movie. It was truly a magical experience and reminded me in a way of the up-close-and-personal interactions we got to have with the animals of Galapagos.
I’m so delighted that Nia got to experience nature in this way! It was a memorable day for all of us. Highly recommended as a fun stop for adults and children alike!
