If you remember back just 3 short weeks ago, Baby Novak was a 1/4 inch, lentil-sized blob with a little flicker of a heartbeat in the middle. Â Fast forward 3 weeks and we’ve got a 1 inch, grape-sized gummy bear, complete with arms and legs (and what we think is an above-average size head!)
My bed rest and progesterone supplements seemed to have paid off, as baby Novak’s heart rate had gone from 117 bpm to 188 bpm, which is well within the normal range. Â Baby Novak also must be picking up on Mom’s squirrely-ness, as we could see his or her hands and feet moving around on the monitor. Â The Doctor said he/she was very active for only 9 weeks along – not sure if that’s going to be a good thing or not! Â :)
Can I just tell you how thankful I am for Ultrasounds? Â This whole crazy experience starts to feel more real when you see your baby’s arm moving around on the monitor. Â And just like that, all of the earlier resentment and anger starts to melt away . . .Cuz really, who can be angry at such an adorable-looking gummy bear?
Thanks for the update and so glad everything is going good! :) Thinking about you my friend! XO, A
Thanks Alicia! Me too! :)
“Very Active” is code for ::
~ heartburn
~ lots of elbow and leg kicks to the right kidney
~ gorgeous “did you see that?” moments when he/she does somersaults
~ a perfect excuse to eat double of everything!
I love ultrasounds too!!
Oh goody! Lots to look forward too…
Yay, Novaks! Isn’t that the best when they start to resemble a little human and not a blob? I am so impressed with the quality of your healthcare so far… hope you’ll start to feel better soon!
thanks for the updates! great to know things are going well. enjoy it.
Just so happy and excited for you!! XOXO
You’re so lucky. Nick had a big head too and in one of his ultrasounds in Egypt (in the old days) the Dr. thought it was twins. But it was only 1 big headed baby boy, which I may say, fits perfectly on that genius man today.
Hooray for the little bean! Love it!! And so glad all is going well… xx
Ultrasounds are totally awesome! So happy you are feeling good and got to enjoy bonding with the gummy bear.
We called our son the Bean for a while because that’s what he looked like…
