On Saturday the unimaginable happened. I FOUND CORN DOGS! And not just any corn dogs, I found MY BRAND of corn dogs. How is that possible??? I do not know. I am still trying to wrap my mind around this fabulous new twist. Here I was, certain that I’d have to go two years without my other favorite food and Manila has surprised and delighted me once more! I know some of you will never believe this but I had made peace with the fact that I wasn’t going to eat one for quite some time – and now, just like that, it’s part of my diet again (although relegated to lunch now that we have such a fabulous cook). I’ll end this post with a few joyous pictures from my very first Corn Dog Lunch today. I can’t resist sharing! Remember: it’s the little things in life that make it so great!
Hi Sarah! This post made me miss you and your enthusiasm for everything! Miss you tons! Lindsay
Thanks Lindsay – hugs from afar! Say hi to the family for me…
Hi Sarah! I stumbled upon your blog while searching about the latest development of my favorite mall in the Philippines- Green Belt.
I grew up in the Philippines but now resides here in US of A. Reading your blog made me miss Philippines more and it was fun reading about your Philippine adventures. I’m telling you, Philippines will spoil and pamper, on the other hand- poverty, pollution and traffic there is hard to get use to. I’m surprise you’re still positive about the cab drivers in Manila. We use to call them Evil ones; I tell you a fare more than $10 is a rip-off. On a lighter note… Have you tried having facial there? you must try it, they have endless choices, you’ll love it as my mom and sister did. Also, Philippines is a good country to practice your photography, they have mountains at the north and oceans at the south. You’re also in good strategic location to explore Hong Kong, China, Thailand, Cambodia, Singapore and Indonesia. All of which are less than 5 hours flight and also relative cheap.
I apologize for this long comment, I got carried away. I hope to read more of your adventures…
Chad- I’m definitely still in the “honeymoon” phase. I know that will end at some point, but I’ll enjoy it while it lasts. The kindness of the people truly overshadows the negative aspects for me. Thanks for following our adventures, I’ll do my best to capture my experience! No facials yet, going for another massage tomorrow though! Feel free to share your insights and comments. Cheers, Sarah
Hey big sis!
Just wanted to let you know that I just bought your fav corn dogs in honor of you! Never tried that kind before…. and to be honest, it has been years since I have had one! I am pumped!! I’ll share my experience as soon as I try them! Loves! :)
That makes me smile. Thanks Em! I really enjoy the honey in the corn dog batter – I think you will too!
Last time I was in Manila, there was a stand in Robinson’s Place Mall in Ermita selling FRESHLY MADE corn dogs. Hot dog, stick, batter, fry, yum!!!!! Oh, and they had fresh lemonade as well.
