Ughhhh. Not gonna lie. This week sucked. People who were gonna show up didn’t show. Orders that were supposed to be delivered were incorrect. Salads that were supposed to go down easy came up as vomit. It just was not pretty folks. And I was a crabby pants. Because everything felt sooooo hard this week. I miss beef. And 4 vaccines in one day makes for a miserable night of sleep. And meeting people – it’s exhausting (even for an extrovert)!
My solution? Give myself something to look forward to (a reward, per say) to help mitigate the more frustrating feelings that will continue to play out for the next few months until I get our household up and running. And what is that reward, you ask? Well, it’s only the best gift ever – a 9 day trip back to Malawi to see all my dear friends there!
Words can’t express how excited I am. I seriously adore my Lilongwe pals. And with 90% of them still there, it’s pretty much like old times…
There will be thousands of steps logged on these gorgeous lanes.
with these loves
and these loves.
And copious amounts of this eaten.
And if I have my way, there will be an epic dance party.
Nia’s also been struggling a bit, especially when it comes to making friends. She seems to have in her head that she doesn’t make friends easily (and didn’t have many in Malawi). You and I both know that’s not true and what better way to remind her of that than to bring her back to Lilongwe to be loved on by these two sweet gals…
and her old friends from the Learning Centre, school & the Embassy!
So get ready Lilongwe, the Novaks will be touching down in early November! We don’t need much – some good food (especially BEEF!), friendship, fun and a little lovin’. No pressure, but I’m depending on you to give me the boost I need to get over the initial hurdle of setting up house in a new country. I’m confident you’ll deliver what we need in spades. Cuz you’re just those kind of people. See you real soon! xoxo
