Ahoy mateys! We had the pleasure of venturing out on a pirate ship on the mighty seas (of the Potomac) this weekend. This kid-oriented 1-hour cruise was ridiculously fun, for adults and kids alike.
Upon boarding, we worked on our pirate vocabulary, mastering words like scallywag, booty and arggghh! We also found out that Evil Edgar had stolen the keys to the treasure chest and that it was our job to get them back!
While we were waiting for Edgar to show his evil face, we passed the time with limbo-ing, tattoos and face painting.
All of a sudden, Evil Edgar showed up on the starboard side shaking our keys in his hand! We quickly manned our water cannons and managed to bring him down and recover the keys!
Then it was time to open the treasure chest and take in all our booty! With booty filling our pockets, it was time to celebrate with song and dance. Nia got especially into dancing, making sure to dance with each of the lovely pirates.
This was a fantastic, inexpensive outing (with cocktails for the adults!) and I’d highly recommend it to other young families in the DC area.
Special thanks to Grandma Joyce for sending the AWESOME pink pirate hat for our adventure. It was a HUGE hit!
