As a viral internet sensation with over 40 million views, I’m sure most of you are familiar with Matt Harding, dancing star of the Where the Hell is Matt? videos. Well, he’s back at it again, this time with new countries (North Korea!) and scenarios (underwater dancing).  Another thing to appreciate about this new video is that Matt embraces EACH COUNTRY’s dances instead of his familiar dance that you saw in the 2008 video.
Being that this is a very scholarly blog (HA!), as I was doing research for this post, I came across a YouTube video of Matt describing the logistics of getting all those people to dance with him around the world. Â Thought you might want to CHECK IT OUT. Â It’s far more complicated than I would have imagined!
After living overseas for 2+ years, what I now understand on a deep level (and what Matt has been able to so elegantly express in his videos) is the shared joy, connection and curiosity that exist among all peoples of the world. Â By eliminating the language barrier and using the body (dance specifically) as a means of expression and connection, Matt was able to visually express our shared humanity. Â BRAVO MATT!
Any bets on how many views this video will get??? Â Enjoy it and don’t be afraid to dance along. . .
This is the first time I saw this. Absolutey wonderful and all the places he went to. One of your best videos except for Baby Nia, of course.
I know, don’t you just love Matt?!
